Since the time of ancient cave paintings numerous great artists have tried to reveal the secrets of nature thtough surrealism and have used, Those symbolic nature figures as expressions of their inner world.
I, also an deeply attracted by those figuresof nature,, such as strangely shaped plants or stones, animals, anatomy of humans, gardens, and the beauty of non-natural figures such as machines, patterns of grotesque, mathematical images, celestial spheres, gothic cathedrals, chimeras, etc.
Therefore, I pick up those figures from any art of any era and then "mix-up" like a good chef or may be an alchemist. Those "figures" stewed in the pot of today's generation make a chemical reaction to produce expression of my inner self. I believe that the expression of myself (microcosm) equals revealing secrets of nature (macrocosm).
I want to see what is lying behind these figures and symbols. I believe that the meaning to continue my work.

Japanease born artist Leimia Hotta's Fire Dance is a glorious eruption of symbolism, surrealism, and naturelism in which figures play out a scene in a volatile aquatic setting.Ms.Hotta's oil painting is utterly leeming with passion, vitality, and fantasy.Ms.Hotta writes,"I am deeply attracted by figures of nature, such as strangely shaped plants or stones, animals, the anatomy of humen,,gardens, and also beauty of nature figures like machines, grotesque patterns, mathematical images, the celestial sphere, Gothic cathedrals, and chimera." A self described alchemist of artistic genres and eras. Ms.Hotta's Fire Dance incorporates nudes, mermaids, horriffic creatures, and costumed characters, but this is not to mention the hauntingly epic background that surrounds the figuration. A massive streak of red rushes outward from costumed character, flooding the center of the composition and reaching the top of the painting. This red deluge is an unforgettable vision of fire, of blood, and ultimately, of enigmatic carnage. However, there is an inexplicable beauty inherent to Ms.Hotta's painting because of the dauntingly fantasical and majestic scale of the painting. It is operatic in its reach and stirring in its efficacious painterly ecstasy.
Ms.Hotta was originally born in Ibaraghi, Japan .before immigrating to
NY in 1987. She is a self-taught artist , specializing in Japanese traditional
painting.
